Dear B. H. Tharrington Primary School Families,

#theBHT is the place to be! 

It is both an honor and a privilege to be serving as your principal. I was born and raised in Mount Airy and am proud to call it my home. I have been an educator since 2009 and have been part of Mount Airy City Schools since 2012. During my career, I have served as a kindergarten, first, and second grade teacher, a reading specialist, a curriculum facilitator, and a principal. My background in education and administration has provided me with valuable insights into fostering a student-centered approach to learning.

My goal is to ensure that every child at BHT not only receives a top-notch education but also feels valued, safe, and empowered to reach their greatest potential. We have a dedicated team of educators and staff at BHT to make this possible. Collaboration between home and school is vital in achieving this objective, and I am committed to maintaining open lines of communication to ensure we provide the best support possible for our students. Together, we can build a strong foundation for your child's lifelong love of learning.

Throughout the upcoming academic year, you can expect a continued emphasis on academic excellence, character development, and the holistic growth of each child. We will celebrate individual achievements and collective successes, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere that motivates our students to grow.
